My name is Pedro Pacheco, and I was born in Lagos, Portugal. I completed my degree in Cinema at ESTC – Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema with a specialisation in Cinematography. I am currently seeking opportunities as Director of Photography  and within the light department. I'm passionate about creating visually compelling and impactful storytelling on screen.
My journey in cinema began in 2017, when I enrolled in a two-year course in Directing for Film and Television. Motivated to deepen my technical and artistic knowledge, I started my degree in Cinema in 2021, focusing on cinematography, an area where I continue to develop my visual language and creative approach.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience across a wide range of projects, including fiction, documentary, advertising, and stop-motion, taking on roles such as Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Assistant Camera, Gaffer, and Lighting Technician. Recently, I have been increasingly working as Director of Photography and Lighting Technician, contributing to both narrative and commercial projects.
In 2025, I was nominated for Best Student Director of Photography by the Associação de Imagem Portuguesa (AIP) for the project "Tempestades". I also served as Director of Photography on "Ao Natural é Melhor", an advertising campaign promoting tourism in the Algarve and Alentejo regions.
Previously, the short film Amarrada (2022), in which I worked as Director of Photography, was selected for several national and international film festivals. Earlier in my career, I worked on my first stop-motion project in 2021, and in 2019, I was nominated for Best Student Director of Photography by AIP for the short film A Viagem.
I have also collaborated as a Lighting Technician on several feature films, gaining valuable on-set experience within larger production environments.
